Lepra is leading the fight against some of the world oldest and most neglected diseases. Through its grassroots intervention –“ tackling the medical, social and psychological impacts of disease ”– Lepra has also been successful in using expertise developed in leprosy to tackle other diseases which push people to societys margins.
With the pressing need to attract a new generation of donors, Lepra invited Industry to look at how it should express its broader mission and help put these issues on the agenda.
Industry identified that Lepra true strength was in tackling diseases of ‘poverty and prejudice’. This insight helped to define both the mission for the organisation and the cause it represents.
